They say Vegas is the city that never sleeps, and for those of us familiar with mine sites , they don’t sleep either! No one likes down time, least of all the Worthy Parts team! However on day two there is a noticeable absence of the team in the photos, a soft ramble around the exhibits in the Central Hall was the days calling. Exploring the large displays, taking parts in quizzes and rehydrating took priority.

INNOVATION

And WOW, innovation, automation and efficiency really are the key themes across all of the new technologies of the latest machines coming from CAT, Komatsu, Sandvik, Joy Global, Liebherr and Elphinstone. Liebherr launched their new truck the T236, with a 100 Tonne payload and 895Kw/1,200HP output. Sandvik displayed their electronic powered underground mining fleet. Cutting back on emissions there was lots of new information to take in, huge benefits to the underground mining industry will be seen when these machines get rolled out to mine sites across the world! We caught up in the afternoon with Elphinstone to learn more about the WR820 Underground Agitator Truck, which we’ll have a more in depth profile for you in the coming days.

CELEBRATION

Outside the convention centre Volvo displayed a gold painted A40G Truck. Celebrating 50 years since they launched their first haul truck the DR 631, Volvo are taking the truck across America on a tour and looking for the oldest operating haul truck! The custom paint job took 650 hours used $15,000 of paint!

The enormity of the show meant we still had to explore the South Hall exhibits, and have heaps more news to impart with you , but for now enjoy the photos whilst we take in the last day of MINExpo 2016¦¦
