Just when you think you’ve seen it all , well no one thinks that, do they? After a lengthy flight from Kalgoorlie the Worthy Parts team made it to a little old mining town in the USA for the MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2016! A convention of epic proportions, the latest and greatest in global mining innovation and technology didn’t disappoint! With over 60,000 attendees, and estimated 1,300 exhibitors we have been floored by our experience of day one!
So much so that only the highlights have made it into this post! There were many! Undergound Mining equipment really took most of the attention today. Time spent with Atlas Copco’s MT65 presented a few surprises, a redesigned tray incudes a tray hoist safety stand and hand pump, fully canbus electrical and monitoring system. We also checked out Fletchers and Ground Force exhibits to find out more about their bespoke underground machinery. Ground Force introduced us to their AT18E Undergound Haul truck, modelled on the CAT AD30. A smaller more efficient machine for the small scale mine, this innovative truck has a centre mounted cab, Kessler axles and includes CAT components, a small marvel of engineering of which only four exist in the world! Fletcher Mining Equipment create bespoke underground equipment from roof bolters to jumbos. Each machine designed with the needs of their client include proprietary Fletcher software which makes for a complete and efficient product.
Wondering around MINExpo it’s hard to cover all the ground, only the North Hall and part of the Central hall were visited by the Worthy Parts team. Meeting up with our Australian counterparts DGI Trading, Mader Equipment Services and NEVIK Industries amongst many others was an accomplishment in itself! It was also great to finally meet up with our North American friends Reliable Industries and the guys from McDowell Equipment! Roll on Day two!!
